GUIDE OF INDICATORS
ON SUSTAINABLE LIVESTOCK (GIPS)
Your support tool on the sustainability journey
GIPS provides guidelines in the form of indicators to assist in assessing the level of sustainability of your activity, points out what needs to be improved and suggests how it can be done.
- FREE
- VOLUNTEER
- CONFIDENTIAL
- SELF DECLARATORY
- VERIFIABLE
The first steps towards the elaboration of GIPS were taken by the Brazilian’s Roundtable team in 2016. The demand arose from the desire to provide producers with a way to evaluate their level of sustainability independently.
After frequent revisions and updates, the tool currently makes it possible to assess the level of sustainability of the activity, points out what needs to be improved and suggests how it can be done, based on Brazilian legislation, good practice protocols and global sustainability principles.
GIPS is free, confidential and applicable to various links in the livestock chain: producers, inputs, meatpackers, retail and restaurants.
MAP OF INITIATIVES
ON SUSTAINABLE LIVESTOCK (MIPS)
MIPS brings together
ongoing national initiatives
of producers, groups of producers and companies.
In 2015, the Brazilian Roundtable began mapping sustainable actions related to the livestock production in Brazil. This is how the Map of Initiative on Sustainable Livestock was born.
Today, the tool is a showcase for sustainable initiatives of the industry, with the aim of giving visibility, inspiring similar actions and being a source of information, including for investment.
MIPS has initiatives from different locations and biomes in Brazil. Registration is voluntary and free!
